Shift Header Bay Supervisor - NIGHTS

Cust-O-Fab, a leader in the design and manufacturing of shell and tube heat exchangers, vessels, towers, and other heat transfer components, in the petrochemical industry for 50 years is currently seeking a night shift Header Bay Supervisor in our Catoosa location.

Position Summary:

Lead manufacturing team and suppliers in the construction of boxed headers and the assembled of bundles for air-cooled heat exchangers.

· Help create and manage the production schedule for both shops

· Ensure solid cost controls are in place and regularly review actual job performance

· Visit sub-contract suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timeliness are in-line with expectations

· Ensure COF core values of safety, quality, schedule and value are upheld and policies are being followed

· Verify facility, equipment and supplies are adequate to support operation

· Directly lead supervision and department shop personnel as required

· Manage staffing levels to ensure overtime levels are maintained while maintaining an efficient workforce

· Maintain high levels of communication with Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management to minimize costs and ensure high-levels of on-time delivery

The best candidates will possess the following qualifications:

· Technical degree preferred or 10+ year relevant industry experience

· 5-7 years’ experience directly supervising the welding of boxed headers

· 2-5 years’ experience operating MIG, TIG, and/or SAW welding equipment

· Understanding of the costing elements in labor and material required to build headers and bundles

· Knowledge of ASME VIII section 1 for boxed headers and hydrotest requirements

· Knowledge of welding and metallurgies for boxed header production

· Ability to implement efficient methods of boxed header manufacturing

· Ability to read and understand prints and specifications

· Ability to understand PQR and WPS requirements and plan workforce and testing accordingly

· Ability to effectively supervise and manage workforce

· Ability to work with suppliers to ensure adequate materials are in-house for efficient workflow

· Ability to set-up boxed header and bundle assembly workflow

· Familiarity of working within an ERP environment for schedule and BOM requirements

· Positive working relationship with sales, quality, engineering, purchasing and customers

· Ability to monitor on-going job costs and make decisions as required

Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
