Cust-O-Fab, a leader in the design and manufacturing of shell and tube heat exchangers, vessels, towers, and other heat transfer components, in the petrochemical industry for 50 years is currently seeking Header Welders in our Catoosa location.
Description
Header Welders are required to be safety minded, highly productive experts who can fit up and weld boxed headers for air cooled heat exchangers.
Wear proper PPE at all times on shop floor and follow all safety protocols and procedures
Read blueprints and weld procedures to ensure all welds are completed to required specifications
Set up welding equipment, prepare materials and maintain a clean workstation to ensure proper welding
Perform weld processes to fabricate or repair boxed headers for air cooled heat exchangers while maintaining less than a 5% x-ray repair rate
Work with QC personnel to ensure quality is maintained on all welds
Complete assigned work within given time frame and according to specifications
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned, which may include performing basic tasks when such a need arises
Qualifications
Must be able to work in a team. Must be self-motivated, dependable, and can work over 40 hours when needed. Must be able to work at a high pace while keeping safety as the #1 priority. Must be able to listen and learn from others. Must be able to work on a task without sacrificing quality.

Common Job Responsibilities | - Must be able to read weld procedures for required parameters and use them accordingly. - Must be able to read prints for weld procedures, weld sizes and dimensions. - Must be willing to step outside of preferred welding style when company’s need arises to perform tasks such as fitting nozzles, wrapper plates, etc. - Willingness to follow company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Must be able to work with QC to ensure quality is maintained on all projects. - Must be able to operate overhead cranes / jib cranes and have rigging knowledge. | ||
