Welders - Nights

Cust-O-Fab, a leader in the design and manufacturing of shell and tube heat exchangers, vessels, towers, and other heat transfer components, in the petrochemical industry for 50 years is currently seeking Welders for our night shift and weekend night shift in our Sand Springs location.


Position Summary:

Welders are required to be safety minded, highly productive experts who can cut, fit, and tack weld all parts of heat exchangers, vessels, and towers.


The best candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Must be a highly safety-oriented individual

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience welding pressure vessels or heat exchanger components

  • Extensive knowledge of welding with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW & SAW thermal processes in the manufacturing of various types of pressure vessels and heat exchangers

  • Ability to pass a weld qualification for each process

  • Ability to read prints for both required specifications as well as dimensions

  • Ability to weld within the parameters of a WPS/PQR

  • Ability to be proficient in arc gouging process

  • Ability to be a self-motivated and highly productive employee who requires minimal supervision and who can efficiently execute a plan to make jobs happen on time within the hours given

  • Ability to be a team player who can work well with others to achieve company goals

  • Ability to consistently maintain less than a 5% X-Ray repair rate

  • Ability to be efficient at fixing X-Ray and UT repairs

  • Ability to recognize and rectify sub-standard welds to ensure product quality

  • Ability to be punctual and dependent with a willingness to work hours outside of a standard schedule when required to achieve a task or complete a project

  • Must be willing to step outside of welding role when a company need arises and perform basic tasks such as cylinder fit-ups or other minor tasks

  • Ability to be a team player and be a company-oriented individual who takes pride in their work

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift

  • Every weekend

  • Monday to Friday

  • Night shift

  • Overnight shift

  • Overtime

  • Weekends as needed


Education: High school or equivalent (Required)


Experience:

  • Stick welding: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Sub Arc Welding: 5 years (Preferred)

  • MIG welding: 5 years (Preferred)

  • TIG welding: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Flux Core Welding: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Pressure Vessel: 5 years (Preferred)


Shift availability:

  • Night Shift (Required)

  • Overnight Shift (Required)


Ability to Commute: Sand Springs, OK 74063 (Required)
