Cust-O-Fab, a leader in the design and manufacturing of shell and tube heat exchangers, vessels, towers, and other heat transfer components, in the petrochemical industry for over 50 years is currently seeking Welders on multiple shifts in our Beaumont location.
Position Summary:
Welders are required to be safety minded, highly productive experts who can cut, fit, and tack weld all parts of heat exchangers, vessels, and towers
The best candidates will possess the following qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience welding pressure vessels or heat exchanger components
Moderate knowledge and ability to weld with some, but not all, of SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW & SAW thermal processes in the manufacturing of various types of pressure vessels and heat exchangers
Ability to pass a weld qualification test to acquire code stamp
Ability to read prints for both required specifications as well as dimensions
Ability to weld within the parameters of a WPS/PQR
Skills in arc gouging process
Ability to be a self-motivated and highly productive employee who requires moderate supervision and who can efficiently execute a plan to make jobs happen on time within the hours given
Ability to be a team player who can work well with others to achieve company goals
Ability to consistently maintain less than a 5% X-Ray repair rate
Ability to be efficient at fixing X-Ray and UT repairs
Ability to recognize and rectify sub-standard welds to ensure product quality
Ability to be punctual and dependent with a willingness to work hours outside of a standard schedule when required to achieve a task or complete a project
Ability to be a team player and be a company-oriented individual who takes pride in their work
Must be a highly safety-oriented individual
