The Challenge

A fire broke out at the customer’s refinery when a third-party field service company opened a flange that had not been purged in a hot zone. The fire destroyed one section of the refinery, and the damaged equipment had to be replaced on an expedited schedule.

Why Cust-O-Fab

Right after the fire, our executive team went to the refinery to help evaluate the damaged equipment. We committed every available resource to rebuild the units within the customer’s timeframe and agreed to help manage the customer’s selected EPC.

When the RFQs were released, we proposed solutions within 24 hours and worked with the customer to set up how the customer, the EPC, and Cust-O-Fab would coordinate.

Scope of Work

4 complete air cooled heat exchangers

2 replacement air cooled bundles

7 sets of replacement fans, motors, and drive assemblies

2 new and 2 rebuilt shell and tube heat exchangers

How We Delivered

We helped the customer manage every key deliverable across five EPC offices in the USA, Canada, and India. Each change the EPC requested was expedited and priced right away, and weekly joint calls with the customer, the EPC, and our team kept the schedule on track.

“We have never completed a project like this faster. Thank you.”
